Overview
The Electrical Site In Charge plays a crucial role in overseeing all electrical activities at the project site, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and project timelines. This role involves coordination with various stakeholders, including engineering teams, subcontractors, and client representatives, to achieve project objectives effectively.
Role & Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to develop electrical plans and specifications for construction projects. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of electrical materials and equipment. Participate in project meetings to provide updates on electrical progress and address any issues or concerns.
Electrical Design and Engineering: Develop detailed electrical designs, including power distribution systems, lighting systems, and grounding systems, in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.Conduct load calculations and voltage drop analyses to ensure proper sizing of electrical equipment and conductors. Review and approve electrical drawings and schematics prepared by design consultants and subcontractors.
Installation and Commissioning: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment at construction sites. Ensure that electrical work is carried out in compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards. Troubleshoot electrical issues and coordinate with the project team to implement effective solutions.
Quality Assurance and Control: Implement quality assurance procedures to ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical installations. Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements. Document and report any non-conformities or deviations from the approved electrical plans.
Safety and Risk Management: Promote a culture of safety among site personnel by enforcing safety policies and procedures. Identify potential hazards and risks associated with electrical work and implement mitigation measures. Investigate and report any accidents or incidents related to electrical installations.
Client and Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to address technical queries and obtain necessary approvals. Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure alignment with project objectives and schedules. Provide regular progress reports to project stakeholders and address any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
