About the Role
- Responsible for managing the company’s insurance portfolio, ensuring adequate coverage and risk mitigation across projects and operations. Expert in project insurance policies like EAR, Marine, Fire, and Building Insurance. Handles policy evaluation, negotiation with brokers, claims management, and coordination with business units to track insurance exposures. Maintains accurate records, performs gap analysis, manages premium accounting, and ensures timely claim settlements. Leads knowledge sharing and promotes best practices in insurance management.
Key Responsibilites
- Evaluate the company’s insurance needs and ensure appropriate product solutions is acquired from the insurance broker.
- Maintain records for all insurances purchased during the year and map insurances with Projects for insurance adequacy.
- Make comparative analysis for all insurance policies for Competitive Pricing and Coverages.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of insurance policies with Insurance broker and underwriters.
- Must have expert knowledge in field of project insurance especially Erection All Risk (EAR) policy, Marine Policy, Fire Policy, Building Insurance
- In-depth understanding on various clauses in EAR and Marine Policy for inclusions and exclusions and impact on insurance premiums.
- Must posse’s leadership skills to interact with Business Heads, obtain information wrt Projects and Insurance Coverages as specified under each project.
- Filing of monthly declaration for open marine policies.
- Monthly reconciliation of insurances purchases vis-à-vis projects in hand and gap analysis and timely taking appropriate actions to ensure insurance adequacy.
- Ensure the accounting of all insurance bills, prepaid insurances, settlement of advance premiums.
- Knowledge management of insurance subject and share the insights and promote best practices.
- Prepare daily trackers and MIS on all projects, insurance policies and exposures.
- Work proactively on cases of project time and cost overrun.
- Timely intimation to insurance agencies and brokers for all insurance claims
- Build a mechanism within the organization for quick response to any claims and losses.
- Must have expert knowledge in filling claim documents with insurance companies and brokers.
- Must work closely with internal stake holders, obtain information and documents and ensure timely submissions to insurance companies.
- Prepare daily trackers and MIS on all projects claims, insurance policies and exposures and claims filed and claims received.
- Ensure the accounting of all insurance claim, claims recoverable and settlements if any.
