The Safety Engineer will be based at Site and will handle overall Safety standards at projects.

Key Skills

Relevant Experience in Substation Switchyard 220KV -765KV

In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards like OSHA, HIRA, JSW.

Familiarity with industry-specific safety standards

Proficiency in conducting hazard assessments, job safety analyses, and accident investigations

Experience with safety management systems (SMS)

Incident reporting software, and safety training programs is advantageous

Conduct regular inspections and assessments to maintain a hazard-free work environment.

Lead toolbox meetings, oversee subcontractor safety plans, and promote safe practices across all sites

Roles & Responsibilites

  • Site Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of project sites to ensure a hazard-free environment, identifying potential safety hazards and taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Toolbox Meetings: Organize and track toolbox meetings to discuss safety procedures, hazards, and best practices with site personnel, ensuring awareness and compliance.
  • Project Safety Leadership: Act as part of the project safety site lead, leading efforts to enhance safety across all project activities, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Subcontractor Safety Plans: Review and approve all subcontractor’s safety plans to ensure alignment with project safety requirements and standards, promoting a unified approach to safety management.
  • Equipment Verification: Verify the adequacy and safety of all tools and equipment used on-site, conducting inspections and maintenance checks to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Safety Promotion: Promote safe practices at all sites through training sessions, demonstrations, and ongoing communication, fostering a culture of safety awareness and accountability among workers.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Conduct drills and exercises to train personnel on managing emergency situations effectively, ensuring readiness and swift response in case of accidents or crises.
  • Accident Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations of all accidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve safety protocols.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Report safety incidents and concerns to relevant authorities as required by regulations, ensuring compliance and transparency in safety management practices.
  • Job Hazard Analysis: Conduct job hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with specific tasks or activities, implementing preventive measures to ensure the safety of workers.
