Overview
A Testing Lead in panel services is responsible for the inspection, testing, validation, and commissioning of electrical panels to ensure they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards before, during, and after installation
Roles & Responsibilities
Leadership: Manage and guide the testing team, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to protocols.
Lead and supervise the end-to-end testing operations for CR Panels, MV (upto 33KV), and LV switchboards, ensuring compliance with IS/IEC standards and project specifications.
Perform and guide Primary injection testing (to simulate fault conditions for breakers, CT’s etc.) and Secondary injection testing (for relays and control circuits).
Validate relay logic, protection coordination, and interlocking schemes in CRP and switchboards.
Supervise testing of protection relays (ABB, Schneider, Siemens, GE etc.), ACB’s, VCB’s, MCCB’s, CT’s, PT’s and other associated switchgear.
Prepare and verify detailed test reports, FAT and Client/third-party inspections.
Train and mentor the testing team to improve competency, safety awareness and testing quality.
Proven expertise in primary injection testing equipment (e.g. Omicron, megger, SVERKER) and Secondary injection Kits for relay testing.
Deep understanding of electrical protection systems, substation automation, and SCADA integration.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all panels meet industry standards and safety regulations.
Troubleshooting: Address complex issues and provide solutions during the testing phase.
Documentation: Review and approve detailed records of test results and corrective actions.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to standards like IEC, IS, or ANSI.
Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, and quality assurance teams to improve panel performance.
